DSNSW work to support all people with Down syndrome achieve their full potential in all stages of life. They also champion the rights of people with Down syndrome to be valued and contributing members of the community.

Why 21? Most people have 23 pairs of chromosomes in each of their cells. People with Down syndrome go one better and have an extra copy of chromosome 21 – which is why Down syndrome is also known as trisomy 21.
